Trump calls for unity as he accepts nomination

BBC NEWS: We heard from the campaign before tonight that this speech would likely focus on unity, and Trump has wasted no time in getting the desired message across.

“The discord and division in our society must be healed. As Americans, we are bound together by a single fate and a shared destiny. We rise together. Or we fall apart,” he says.

“I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America,” he adds.

Trump then formally accepts the party’s presidential nomination – his third Republican nomination in a row – to huge cheers in the arena.
